New Mitsubishi Outlander 2018
Mitsubishi India will relaunch the Outlander in the coming months, which was discontinued in 2012 as a second-gen model. Now, the global facelift/mid-cycle update of the third-generation Outlander will make it to the country. the SUV is likely to be launched soon in the price range of Rs 24-28 lakh. Like the second-gen model, the 2017 Outlander is expected to be a CBU (completely built up) import.
The new Outlander will rival the Hyundai Santa Fe, upcoming Honda CR-V and the recently launched Volkswagen Tiguan among others. According to the Mitsubishi website, the Outlander will be loaded to the gills with goodies such as 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels (225/55R tyres), LED lighting, automatic trunk, sunroof, 6.1-inch infotainment system among others.The India-spec Mitsubishi Outlander is likely to be powered by the 2.4-litre MIVEC (167PS/222Nm) naturally-aspirated petrol engine same as before. This motor is mated to a CVT automatic with paddle shifters (6-speed sports mode) and comes with Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) setup.

The Outlander that will be launched in India will be the third generation model and will get a slew of updates to the looks, cabin and the features as well.
Mitsubishi says that the new Outlander has a drag co-efficient which is better than the outgoing model by seven per cent. Also, as is evident in the pics, the 2017 Outlander looks much sharper thanks to the new front-end which has a lot of angular elements and sleek-looking headlamps. The company might also offer full LED headlamps on the new Outlander.
Expected Engine Specifications
The Outlander will have either a 2.0-litre engine or a 2.4-litre engine which will make around 150 bhp-180 bhp. The company will offer a CVT unit along with paddle-shifters as well. Being an Outlander, it will have four wheel drive as standard.Outlander Rivals. As far as competition is concerned, the Outlander will go against the likes of the Hyundai Tucson and the recently launched Jeep Compass.
We expect the pricing of the upcoming Outlander to be in the bracket of Rs 18 lakh to Rs 24 lakh.
